Structure property relationships in five-component equiatomic solid solutions

Equiatomic solid solutions have gained academic interest in the past decade and are referred to as high entropy alloys. However, there are solid solutions, which are not necessarily stabilised by the configuration entropy. The present study demonstrates the evolution of the microstructure in multi-component equiatomic solid solutions during processing. In addition, the relationships between the (micro-) structure and physical and mechanical properties are discussed.
