Since 1979 EO has been working in the field of electron microscopy as a supplier of excellent products and service for our customers, offering superiority techniques from notable companies such as Tescan, Cressington, Spicer, K&S, pieScientific, Technoorg and Nanomechanics. At the MSE we will focus on nanoindentation systems from Nanomechanics that provide the user with the most accurate results and with leading edge characterization for materials on micro and nano scales. The Nanomechanics indentors are most commonly used for testing a multitude of materials for widespread applications. The product range covers standalone (iNano, iMicro) and in-situ nanoindentation systems (InSEM, NanoFlip) that fulfill the requirements of research and development in academia and industry. Whatever the user is testing (bulk material, layers, thin films etc.) the measurements of hardness, modulus and other material’s properties are extremely reliable. We are glad to welcome you at the EO booth to discuss your needs and wishes around nanomechanical testing and characterization with standalone systems or inside your SEM.
More than 20 years ago, the Oliver and Pharr method led to the commercial breakthrough of the nanoindentation method. Since then the technology has been constantly developed and optimized. Meanwhile, this technique is one of the most common test methods in academia and industry to determine mechanical material properties at small scale. With more than 30 years of experience, offers Nanomechanics a variety of reliable nanomechanical testing instruments ranging from affordable standalone (iNano, iMicro) to sophisticated in-situ (InSEM, NanoFlip) systems. All systems are capable of rapid and dynamic testing. The in-situ modules enable simultaneous observation of the testing process and correlative combination with most analyzing methods available in SEM. For instance, the NanoFlip allows an advanced material characterization by e.g. compiling information of microstructure, chemistry and mechanical properties. The prevailing vacuum conditions during in-situ experiments in conjunction with high-temperature WC-indenters and the high thermal stability of the InSEM HT enable material testing up to 1000°C giving insides to materials behavior during service temperatures. This presentation will outline the advantages of correlative characterization and possibility of high-temperature testing with Nanomechanics, Inc. indentation instruments.
